GKM's Beginning . . .

For many years Larry Dunn bounced up and down the west coast putting his printing skills to work at many levels. Having opened or cofounded several business forms manufacturing plants, including what is now Sterling Business Forms, it wasn’t until 1978 that he found his final calling…

It was then that Larry moved his family; once again; to Auburn California where GKM was born. Having had a relationship with Tully-Wihr Company, a distributor out of San Francisco; it was a joint venture of sorts when Larry and the owners of Tully-Wihr decided to open a printing plant with Tully-Wihr Company as its first customer. The then management of Tully-Wihr; Gene Gallagher, Don Knoll and Charlie Miller teamed up with Larry’s depth of Knowledge in the manufacturing industry and the wheels of GKM began to turn. And, if you’ve ever wondered why GKM is named GKM, just follow the initials of Gallagher, Knoll and Miller…

It wasn’t long before Larry became a full partner in this enterprise and upon doing so he began to do what he had done so many times before; make many great relationships with many great customers…

It was always in the cards to keep GKM a completely separate company from Tully-Wihr, as Larry always knew that just one customer, no matter how big, would ever satisfy his deep desire to contribute to this industry.

GKM has and always will be a trade only printer. We will always strive to provide the very best leading edge technologies to each and every one of our customers, while treating each of you like you are the only one we have…

That’s how Larry wanted it… That’s how it will always be…
